Lesson 11 - Monday

Giving From a Grateful Heart

“But first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.” — 2 Corinthians 8:5

The central message of these passages is simple: true Christian giving begins with giving ourselves to God. The believers Paul describes were generous not because they had an abundance of money, but because their hearts had been changed by God’s grace. Their giving became an expression of their love, gratitude, and commitment to Him.

Paul reminds us that God loves a cheerful giver. Our giving should never be motivated by guilt, pressure, or the desire to impress others. It should come from a heart that recognizes everything we have ultimately comes from God.

Now think about the Cross. Jesus gave everything for us. He gave His time, His strength, His life, and ultimately Himself so that we could have salvation. When we truly understand the price He paid, generosity becomes a response to love.

So, how generous are you? It is easy to give what is convenient or what we will not miss. But what about giving in proportion to what God has blessed us with? What could you give if you trusted God more completely?

The question is not simply, “How much am I giving?” It is, “How much of myself have I given to God?” When we surrender ourselves to Him, our possessions, our time, and our resources naturally become tools for blessing others and advancing His work.

Today, look at your giving through the eyes of the Cross. Jesus held nothing back from you. Ask God to give you a generous heart that reflects His love.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving us everything we need, and most of all, for giving us Jesus. When we look at the Cross, help us understand the depth of Your love and the sacrifice You made for us.

Forgive us when we hold too tightly to our time, money, possessions, or abilities. Teach us to trust You more and to give with willing and joyful hearts. Help us remember that generosity is not simply about what we give, but about giving ourselves completely to You.

Make us faithful stewards and willing servants. Use what we have to bless others and help share Your love with the world.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Fruits of an Authentic Ministry

They might never open a Bible. They might never attend church. They might never hear a sermon. But they could watch how you treat people, how you respond when you are hurt, how you handle difficulty, how you speak when you are angry, and how you live when no one is watching. In 2 Corinthians 3, Paul uses a powerful picture to describe this kind of Christian witness. His ministry was not an easy journey filled with comfort, recognition, and success. He experienced hardship, rejection, persecution, physical danger, disappointment, and exhaustion. Yet in the middle of all of it, Paul refused to lose hope. In 2 Corinthians 4, he gives us a remarkable description of both his suffering and his confidence in God. Paul says: “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed” (2 Corinthians 4:8–9, KJV). Christ-focused Ministry of Reconciliation

He did not preach himself. He did not build his ministry around personal popularity, success, or recognition. His motivation was Christ's love and his desire to help people become reconciled to God. Paul writes, “For the love of Christ constraineth us” (2 Corinthians 5:14, KJV). That statement reveals the heart of his ministry. Paul had experienced the love and grace of Christ personally. Call to Holiness

  Sabbath School First and Second Corinthians  Authentic Christian Ministry Lesson 10 - Wednesday Called to Be Holy: Living as God’s Temple Read 2 Corinthians 6:11–7:1 Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 6:11–7:1 give us a powerful picture of what a holy life looks like. Holiness is not simply about avoiding certain behaviors or following a list of religious rules. It is about belonging completely to God and allowing that relationship to shape every part of our lives. Paul begins by reminding the Corinthians that his heart is open to them. He longs for them to respond to God with the same openness and devotion. Then he gives a strong warning: “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers” (2 Corinthians 6:14, KJV).
