He did not preach himself. He did not build his ministry around personal popularity, success, or recognition. His motivation was Christ's love and his desire to help people become reconciled to God. Paul writes, “For the love of Christ constraineth us” (2 Corinthians 5:14, KJV). That statement reveals the heart of his ministry. Paul had experienced the love and grace of Christ personally. He understood what Christ had done for him, and that experience changed everything. His ministry was not simply a job or religious responsibility. Christ's love compelled him to serve.
