  Sabbath School Growing in a Relationship with God  Lesson 2 - Tuesday  God is Love When Love Has a Name In 1 John 4:7–19 , we are given one of the clearest windows into who God truly is: “God is love.” This isn’t just something God does—it’s His very nature. Love flows from Him, defines Him, and is perfectly expressed through Him. This passage shows us several powerful truths: Love comes from God, and everyone who truly loves reflects Him. God demonstrated His love not with words, but with action—sending His Son so we might live. Real love casts out fear because it is rooted in security, not uncertainty. Our ability to love others is a direct response to His love for us. In other words, you don’t manufacture real love—you receive it from God, and then it overflows into others. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?
