They might never open a Bible. They might never attend church. They might never hear a sermon. But they could watch how you treat people, how you respond when you are hurt, how you handle difficulty, how you speak when you are angry, and how you live when no one is watching. In 2 Corinthians 3, Paul uses a powerful picture to describe this kind of Christian witness. He asks the Corinthians whether he needs a letter of recommendation to prove the authenticity of his ministry. Then he says something remarkable: “Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men” (2 Corinthians 3:2, KJV).
