  John 1:1–3 and 14 are foundational verses in the Bible that speak to the identity and role of Jesus Christ in creation and His incarnation. John 1:1–3 (ESV):  "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made."
