  Sabbath School First and Second Corinthians  Grace, Love, and Fellowship Lesson 13 - Sunday Grace at the Beginning and the End Read Romans 16:20, Galatians 6:18, Philippians 4:23, and 1 Thessalonians 5:28. Although these passages come from different letters, they share a beautiful and important teaching: the Christian life begins, continues, and ends with the grace of Jesus Christ. Paul repeatedly closes his letters by reminding believers of grace. This was not merely a polite way to end a letter. Grace was at the heart of his message. The church needed grace, and so do we. Romans 16:20 says, “And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.” Here, grace is connected with the promise of victory. God’s people do not overcome evil through their own strength or merit. They depend on the God of peace and the grace of Jesus Christ. Sabbath School First and Second Corinthians  Dealing With False Teachers Lesson 12 - Sunday Gentle, Yet Bold for Christ Paul’s relationship with the believers in Corinth was complicated. He loved them, but he also knew that some serious problems had entered the church. False teachers were questioning Paul’s authority, criticizing his ministry, and trying to turn the believers away from the truth about Christ. What makes 2 Corinthians 10:1–11 especially interesting is that Paul’s critics apparently considered his meekness to be weakness. They saw his gentle approach as evidence that he lacked courage. But Paul was about to make something very clear: meekness is not weakness. Paul writes, “Now I, Paul, myself am pleading with you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:1, NKJV). In 2 Corinthians 12:20–21, he expressed fear that some members were still holding on to attitudes and behaviors that were damaging the church’s spiritual life. He mentioned strife, envyings, wraths, strifes, backbitings, whisperings, swellings, and tumults . He also feared that some had not repented of their uncleanness, fornication, and lasciviousness .
