When Doubts Arise After His resurrection, Jesus suddenly appeared among His disciples. Instead of rejoicing, they were terrified. They had heard reports that He was alive, yet when He stood before them, fear and doubt filled their hearts. Jesus gently asked, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts?” (Luke 24:38, NKJV). Those words are just as relevant today as they were then. Life has a way of filling our hearts with uncertainty. We face financial struggles, health challenges, family problems, disappointments, and unanswered questions. In those moments, it can seem as though God is distant or unaware of our circumstances. Fear begins to grow, and doubt quietly takes root. Yet the reality is that Jesus is often much closer than we realize. Just as He walked with the disciples on the road to Emmaus before they recognized Him, He walks beside us through every valley.
