Matthew 24:36–44 – “Be Ready”

 Matthew 24:36–44 – “Be Ready”

Matthew 24 Passage Video:

In Matthew 24:36–44, Jesus teaches about His second coming. He emphasizes that no one knows the day or hour—not the angels, not even Himself, but only the Father. He compares the end-time to the days of Noah, when people were living their normal lives—eating, drinking, marrying—right up until the flood came and swept them away. Likewise, Jesus says His coming will be sudden and unexpected.

Here are Main Lessons

  1. Uncertainty Requires Readiness (v. 36):
Since no one knows when Christ will return, we must live in a constant state of spiritual preparedness.

  2. Normal Life Can Distract (vv. 37–39):
Just like in Noah’s day, people may ignore spiritual warnings while focusing only on daily life. That complacency led to destruction.

  3. Sudden Separation (vv. 40–41):
Two people may be side by side—working, living, doing everyday things—but one will be taken and the other left. This shows the personal nature of salvation.

  4. Be Watchful and Ready (vv. 42–44):
Like a homeowner who stays alert to protect his house from a thief, we should remain spiritually awake and faithful, because Jesus will come at an hour we do not expect.

What about Us?
Jesus' return will be unexpected, and there will be no time to prepare at the last minute. We must live each day in faith, obedience, and readiness. Live as if Christ could come today.
