Is work a blessing or a curse? We have to go to the beginning of creation with Adam and Eve. Genesis 2:15 (NKJV): "Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it." Man's first job was to take care of the garden. We could call this work, but in fact it was more of a responsibility. The work they did was out of love for God and the blessings they received. This was only one part of what people were to do. Genesis 1:26 (NKJV): "Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” " We were to populate the earth and rule over it. This included building towns, raising food, developing and discovering new things, and protecting it. This was the original plan for humans.
