More often, it comes quietly—little by little—as God’s people yield to worldly demands and begin to conform to worldly customs rather than to the will of God. This may include redefining truth to avoid offense, adopting cultural values that prize comfort, success, or popularity above faithfulness, or allowing entertainment, technology, and busyness to crowd out prayer and Scripture. What once would have unsettled the conscience slowly becomes normalized, not because God has changed, but because our sensitivity to His voice has dulled.
